Book on My Palm

bebi.jpgI received today as a gift for my birthday last week this really cool, cute book that can fit your palm. “Wisdom to Grow On” is a collection of “incredible letters and inspiring advice for getting the most out of life.” The moment I caught a glimpse of what was to come out of the gift wrapper that it came on, I fell in love with it.

This was such a handy “lifesaver,” I thought to myself–not only because I needed a positive quote to end a meeting of entrepreneurs I presided this morning, but also because its 123 pages would end my daily search for “wisdom on love, success, and happiness to help guide me,” courtesy of Charles Acquisto who gathered letters for his firstborn son, Nicholas, from celebrities such as Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Pierce Brosnan, Jerry Lewis, Dom, DiMaggio, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many more.

Here are some samplings:

This little book, hardbound with dust jacket and all of only 3″ x 2.5″ in size, is such a wealth of inspiring thoughts and words, coming to me with such vitality and value that lighten up my spirit and brighten up my day. It has not been over 24 hours since this book was given to me by Edlynn, and already I have been moved.

The dedication she wrote for me, “Deedee, A Great Leader,” seemed a little overwhelming; but what the heck, I could probably use a powerful description to push me to become one and live it.

Or why not write a passage or two and become a page in this book, such as: “The true mark of a leader is not what he has made of himself but rather what he has made of those whom he had served.”?
